ICCBBA would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joy Mammen and Dr. Kelly Tilleman for their dedicated service on ICCBBA’s Board of Directors and their impactful contributions to advancing the ISBT 128 Standard. Both recently concluded their terms in May 2025, having served since 2019.
Dr. Tilleman brought invaluable expertise in Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAR), marking the first time this field was represented on the Board. Her deep knowledge of the European regulatory framework for tissues and cells greatly enriched Board discussions. Dr. Mammen was the first board member from India and was a valuable source of information on the regulatory, professional, and cultural challenges as well as opportunities faced by blood and cell therapy professionals in his home country and region.
During their tenure, Dr. Tilleman served as ICCBBA Secretary from 2022–2025 and was a member of the Nominating Committee (2023–2024). Dr. Mammen chaired the Nominating Committee (2024–2025) and served on the Grant Assessment Committee (2023–2025). Dr. Tilleman will continue contributing as Chair of the MAR Technical Advisory Group (TAG).
Their professionalism, practical wisdom, and good humor were deeply valued, and we are grateful for their six years of service. We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate in promoting safety and traceability in transfusion and transplantation.
Drs. Claudia Cohn, Francisco Martinez, and Aseem Kumar Tiwari join the Board of Directors in May as its newest members.
ICCBBA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of global experts in transfusion and transplantation of medical products of human origin. Board positions are publicly advertised, and members typically serve two three-year terms.
Stay connected, stay informed, and stay inspired with ICCBBA.
