EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Board of Directors of ICCBBA are seeking to appoint an Executive Director to take on the position on the retirement of the current post-holder.  The position is being advertised internationally and re-location to the USA is not required. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be appointed in mid-2021.
 

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Masters degree, be fluent in English, and have a minimum of five years leadership experience, preferably in the non-profit healthcare field.
 

Knowledge of general trends in biotherapeutics and informatics, together with familiarity with ISBT 128 is desirable.
Experience of working internationally across a wide range of cultures would be an advantage.

Reports to: ICCBBA Board of Directors Chair

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and manage ICCBBA in close collaboration with the executive management team;
     

  • Foster an ICCBBA reputation for integrity, quality and service;
     

  • Oversee ICCBBA’s role in the coordination and implementation of ISBT 128 worldwide;
     

  • Develop and maintain relationships with major stakeholders, such as worldwide scientific, professional and patient organizations; Ministries of Health, regulators and WHO; and other standards development organizations.
     

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors in order to develop strategy, goals and plans for the furtherance of ICCBBA's mission;
     

  • Develop a budget in collaboration with the Treasurer that can be approved by the Board of Directors;
     

  • Direct ICCBBA in order to achieve the agreed strategy, goals and plans of the Board of Directors;
     

  • Provide regular feedback to the Board of Directors on activities and financial performance;
     

  • Ensure that all ICCBBA provided resources, human and financial, are efficiently and cost-effectively managed, and available for the successful implementation of ISBT 128 and for ongoing support to registered facilities;
     

  • Ensure that ICCBBA operations comply with applicable regulatory and professional standards, are effectively managed, and are in accordance with good corporate governance;
     

  • Ensure that ICCBBA products and services meet the current and future needs of its users;
     

  • Ensure that the ICCBBA Quality System maintains ISO 9001 accreditation.

Job Type: Full-time

 

Job Summary: The Accounting Manager's function is to manage the financial administration of the organization, including the provision of customer services (registrations, licensing, and billing), and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Activities
 

  • maintain up-to-date business records for customer transactions, including registration and licensing fees

  • invoice customers and follow up on past due accounts

  • receive payments from customers, record, and process them in accordance with good financial practice

  • receive invoices from creditors and to make payments

  • receive and reconcile bank and credit card statements and assign financial cost codes

  • maintain financial records in the QuickBooks accounting system and prepare information for auditor(s) as required

  • To be responsible for:

  • Annual financial audit and year-end tax reporting

  • Annual workers compensation audit

  • 403(b) contribution calculations

  • 403(b) annual reporting for IRS Form 5500

  • Payroll processing and staff pay changes

  • Annual Use Sales Tax reporting for items purchased outside of CA

  • Annual county unsecured tax reporting
     

Management Activities
 

  • Be aware of organizational interests, needs, and concerns as expressed in the Board Mission Statement, Strategy, and Business Plan, and ensure these are addressed in work activities

  • Ensure the department operates in a fiscally responsible manner

  • Contribute to the management of the organization as a member of the management team

  • Provide reports to upper management as required

Quality Activities
 

  • Ensure that financial activities are performed in accordance with quality management system requirements

  • Write policies and procedures and provide appropriate training to others

  • Participate in internal and surveillance audits for ISO 9001

  • Provide management summaries of key business performance indicators.

Help Desk Management
 

  • Ensure effective and timely handling of help desk communications received by post, email, or telephone, including forwarding inquiries to the other members of the ICCBBA staff or volunteers, as appropriate

  • Identify trends in inquiries and common user queries.

Working Relationships

ELECTRONIC MESSAGING SPECIALIST

ICCBBA is seeking to fill the position of Electronic Messaging Specialist. The position will be located at the ICCBBA office in Redlands, California

Applicants must hold a minimum of a BS degree (or equivalent) and must have demonstrated experience in developing XML messages and/or experience in JSON, preferably in healthcare informatics.

Relevant experience or training in VBA programming as well as the following is desirable: XML, JSON, HL7, FHIR, RFID, and EDI.

Working knowledge of medical product of human origin collection, processing, and/or administration would be an advantage.

Post: Electronic Messaging Specialist

 

Reports to: Technical Director

 

Job Summary: Assist in the development of an ICCBBA electronic messaging strategy and provide technical support for the ISBT 128 standard.

                         

Key Responsibilities:

 

Assist in the development of an ICCBBA electronic messaging strategy.

 

  • Work with the technical advisory group for information technology to identify areas that would benefit from further development of electronic messaging standards.

  • Formulate recommendations for the expansion and growth of the ISBT 128 Standard to meet the changing demands of transfusion and transplantation, with a focus on electronic messaging.

  • Ensure that future developments of the ISBT 128 Standard are compatible with the electronic messaging strategy.

  • Stay current with developments in healthcare electronic messaging and provide consultation on emerging information transfer methodologies.

Technical Support for the ISBT 128 Standard

 

  • Develop and/or update electronic messaging standards and implementation guides.

  • Provide ISBT 128 reference information in machine accessible format.

  • Provide consultation on syntax and semantic requirements.

  • Participate in database maintenance.

  • Participate as a team member in reviewing and critiquing the work of other staff.

  • Support the update of the ISBT 128 Standard in accordance with the development process.

  •  Prepare validation plans and perform validations.

  • Provide support to, and when appropriate, attend meetings of Technical Advisory Groups.

 

Technical Support to ICCBBA

 

  • Assist with the development and execution of new interfaces.

Customer Service

 

  • Provide technical help desk support to customers with electronic messaging questions in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Participate in the formulation and review of policy for ICCBBA and to suggest changes.

TECHNICAL WRITER

ICCBBA is seeking to fill the position of Technical Writer. The position will be located at the ICCBBA office in Redlands, California 

ICCBBA is seeking a full-time Technical Writer to maintain technical documents and publications in support of the ISBT 128 Standard. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex and technical information in simple terms.
